The Curtis Baptist Theatre program is designed to reinforce self confidence, social skills and creativity by combining the fine arts (music, drama, dance and visual art) and aspects of the core academic curriculum (history, language arts, social studies). This program builds students reading and public speaking skills as they rehearse and learn lines and fosters their creativity, responsibility, independence, teamwork and dedication. Students learn to work together and take pride in their accomplishments. A short program or musical is presented each semester. During the rehearsal process (class time) students will learn the fundamentals of theatre through this combination of work and play – little do they realize they’re learning something at the same time!
